I’m an early-30’s single Canadian gal, a finance professional by day, and many other things at all other hours! I’m a sister, daughter, friend, dog lover, avid hiker, sporadic blogger, amateur cook, and yoga enthusiast. I REFUSE to call myself a yogi. It reminds me of Yogi Bear, and that is not the image I’m going for as I attempt to master crow pose.
Why “a little coffee”? The blog name started as a joke people used to crack when they watched me doctor my java. “Whoa Laura… you like a little coffee with your cream and sugar, eh?” I always liked the joke. My mum has always enjoyed telling us that her late father claimed apple pie was just a vehicle for cream and sugar. It gave me something in common with my grandfather, a man who was born in 1899, lived in England, and died when I was just 10 years old… a man I never got to know very well.
It means something else too, though. Coffee is a jolt; it provides both energy and comfort. It’s warm and brings vibrance to your day, and (with cream and sugar!) it’s an indulgent treat. A little is good; a lot is excessive. Everything in moderation.
This is much like me. I am a warm person, and a have jolts of vibrance, ideas and moments in time that I experience with great energy. I’m also an introvert and can be quieter and laid-back most of the time. I believe in indulgent treats mixed into the day-to-day, but I believe that balance is the key to wellness. This little space of mine is a personal blog with a bit of a penchant for health & wellness topics, and a healthy dose of delight.
