Death to Google Reader

A quick administrative note – as I’m sure most of you are aware, Google Reader is biting the dust next month and all us blog addicts out there are scrambling to find a replacement. While the majority of blog-land seems to be singing the praises of Feedly, I’m leaning towards Bloglovin’ and have signed up for an account so I can check it out. While I’m at it, I’m setting my own blog up with a Bloglovin’ feed. Won’t you join me over there?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hum… it looks like you can’t read full posts on Bloglovin. I get that it’s an advantage for the blog as they’ll get more hits that way, the whole point for me was to get everything in one place. I might need to try Feedly, but I didn’t want an app. Why can’t Google just keep their Reader? So frustrating…

I’m still in denial. Feedly practically crashed my work computer when I tried to install it, so I won’t be trying that again. For the life of me, I can’t actually figure out how to add a new blog to Bloglovin’! (KIND OF A BASIC THING, NO? That should be user friendly!) And Newsblur, the best of the bunch, only follows 64 feeds for free, if you want more you have to pay. I’m actually contemplating paying, I dunno… Grrrr @ Google Reader, I really really wish we could just keep using it.
